Subject: Lust Destroys Peace
Summary:
John Ritenbaugh explores the relationship between keeping God's commandments and attaining great peace (Psalm 119:165), and the relationship between lust, coveting, or inordinate desire(I John 2:16, James 1:14-15), and the malicious destruction of peace or well-being. Lust, a sin having powerful addictive qualities, never travels alone, but begets a guilty conscience, agitation, anxiety, depression, grief, torment, and a host of other painful emotions, enlisting other allied sins such as lying, adultery, and murder-eventually leading to death. Peace, on the other hand, is a natural by-product of keeping God's commandments (Psalm 19:7-11).
