Subject: The Peace of God
Summary: In this message, John Ritenbaugh identifies the two principal causes robbing us of Christ's promised legacy of peace (John 14:27) as (1) pride (the father of all sins) - first appearing in Satan (Ezekiel 28:14 and Isaiah 14:14) and (2) the subsequent drive to have complete control of our lives- the two factors with which Satan led our parents Adam and Eve into a state of discontent and imagined victimization. The antidote to this malignant, peace-robbing pride is to (1) reconcile with God, doing God's work as mandated by our calling, and (2) loving God's Law as revealed through His word (Psalm 119:165). If we intensely love God, sin becomes impossible, enabling the peace of God (Philippians 4:7) to guard and preserve us in Christ Jesus.
