sermonette: The Daniel Boone In All Of Us
Mike Ford
Given 29-Sep-07; Tape #FT07-06s; 17 minutes
Description: (hide) Mike Ford, reflecting on the childhood biography of Daniel Boone, observes that as Daniel Boone had been a great guide and trailblazer, with his band of 30 men, scouting out the way enabling over 300,000 settlers to move across the Cumberland Gap by way of the Wilderness Road into Kentucky. The Bible is replete with the forerunner pattern in which a scout makes way for someone else, such as John the Baptist, making a highway in preparation for Christ. Our status, as God?s called ?out ones, consists also of being scouts or harbingers or forerunners to prepare the way for those who will follow. Considering our internet capabilities, each of us is responsible for preparing the way for 63 people. We as the first fruits follow in the steps of our Elder brother, the Archegos or pathfinder, preparing the way of the Lord in the wilderness.
