telecast: Why Does God Allow Suffering?

Isaiah 45:7, Job's suffering
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 22-Nov-64; Tape #TWT2172A; 30 minutes

Description: (hide)

Herbert W. Armstrong responds to a question about Isaiah 45:7 in which God claims responsibility for creating evil, calamity, or disaster. All authority comes from God. Satan can only do what God permits him to do, as is seen in the moving and sobering account of Job's poignant suffering. Like Job, we must surrender to God's purpose, replacing self-righteousness with God's righteousness. The booklets Why Were You Born? and All About Water Baptism were offered on this program.

Topics: (show)

Afflictions of the righteous Calamity Disaster Evil Insignificance of man Job Original fall Righteousness of God Satan Self righteousness Suffering Surrender to God
